In this interview Sascha Friesike presents his vision about changing academic structures. questions the fanatical fixation on “excellence” and promotes more freedom of research greater plurality in careers. Furthermore, he hopes for a landscape which “impact” is understood as ideas that really matter not perpetuation perverse metrics. He argues researchers should be supported prioritizing sharing their content trained to seek impact long term.
